Aim for the pocket, not the head pin. The pocket is the gap between the 1-pin and the 3-pin (or 1 and 2 for left-handers).
Start with the line, then adjust by one board at a time. Big aim swings produce big misses.
Use spin sparingly. A straight ball with good aim outscores a flashy hook on most lanes.
For spares, draw a line from the pin you want to hit through the arrow you should target. Aim at the arrow, not the pin.
Consistency beats power. Repeating the same release matters more than rolling harder.
